Sampling Conditions During Operation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Recommended conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the machine is operating under normal conditions,<\/li>\n<li>nominal load,<\/li>\n<li>oil in circulation,<\/li>\n<li>operating temperature,<\/li>\n<li>sampling within approx. 30 minutes after shutdown (if the oil is still in motion).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conditions to avoid:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sampling from a switched-off machine,<\/li>\n<li>operation under partial or no load,<\/li>\n<li>a cold system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n        <\/div>\n        \n        \n    <\/div><!-- \/container -->\n<\/article>\n\n\n\n<article class=\"post-content-section\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n\n        \n                <div class=\"entry-content\" data-animate=\"fade-up\">\n            <h3><strong>7. Grease Thief.<\/li>\n<li>Close the Grease Thief and place it in the transport tube.<\/li>\n<li>The Grease Thief requires no further handling; it is ready for analysis in accordance with ASTM taken from the area near the seal. The area around the grease fitting should be thoroughly cleaned beforehand. The sample should preferably be taken from the main bearing operating zone and\/or from a location 180\u00b0 opposite to it.<\/p>\n<p>When relubricating through a prepared grease fitting (without rotating the bearing), the first portion of grease emerging from under the seal lip is collected as the sample. A sufficient sample volume is approximately <strong>0.3 cm\u00b3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Extreme care must be taken during sampling, as contamination of the sample may distort the analytical
